1. AC Machines (Asynchronous & Synchronous)
Specializing in the repair and design of, asynchronous induction machines and synchronous machines including permanent magnet motors.

We specialize in the design and repair of variable and high frequency machines for industrial applications.
3. DC Motors And AC Conversions
We at GAW still offer repairs to DC motors, however, we also offer DC to AC conversions. This includes turnkey solutions including AC motor selection, VSD selection, system integration and commissioning.
4. AC Motor Design & Rebuilds
At GAW we offer full electric motor designs and modifications, these Include but are not limited to: inverter-ready modifications, two speed motor design, variable-frequency constant power/constant torque design, motor voltage adjustments, motor power adjustments, motor frequency adjustments and duty cycle adjustments.
5. AC Motor Protection and Certification
GAW specializes in conversion and repair of motors in hazardous areas, making us a preferred service provider in SA.
In accordance with SANS, GAW certified in:
• Modifications to electric motor ingress protection (IP) ratings in accordance with SANS60079-15
• Repair and recertification to Flame Proof Motors in accordance with SANS60079-1.
• Dust ignition proofing (DIP) of electric motors in accordance with SANS60079-31.
• Enhanced safety conversion of electric motors in accordance with the SANS60079 series.
GAW also offers electric motor protection by installation of winding thermal protection, bearing thermal protection, vibration sensors and anti-condensation heaters.
